How We Got Our Start

Allow me to introduce myself, I am Tamara Langstroth of Kings County, New Brunswick. I grew up in this Beautiful Canadian East Coast province, known for it’s Covered Bridges, Light houses & Ferry’s. I have been an admirer & Enthusiast of our Heritage Covered Bridges my entire life. I have travelled the picturesque province taking photo’s of most of our Covered Bridges and hope too see and photograph the remaining, that I have yet to see in person. Each Covered Bridge is unique, beautiful & full of life & history. In August,2017 the Province destroyed my Favourite Covered Bridge which was located in French Village, Route 860, The Hammond River #2 (French Village 1912). This particular Covered Bridge I held dear to my heart as I grew up in it’s shadow and felt as it were a part of my Family. I kept track of the demolition process near daily & posted the photo’s for the world too see. I started a petition online to save this last Historic longest single span, free standing covered bridge to no avail. After the loss of yet another beautiful piece of history and with the average loss of 1 Covered Bridge every 1.5 years, I decided to replicate each of the Province’s Covered Bridges as a keepsake/souvenir & Ornament. I started this process in October,2017 when I opened my home small business of Covered Bridge Crafters in Hunter lake, N.B. I became Secretary for the Covered Bridge Conservation Association of New Brunswick Inc. in March of 2018, to which I am truly honoured. I have been an advocate for our Covered Bridges for years and finally stepped forward in hopes of making more persons aware of the devastation of loss of each & every Covered Bridge in this Beautiful Province. I hope my replica’s are a genuine reminder that one day..that is all we will have left ( besides photo’s ) if nothing is done NOW to preserve, protect and conserve our remaining Bridges. I want my Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren and future generations to have the pleasure of seeing, experiencing & driving through a historic Covered Bridge..and NOT say..this is where a once proud Covered Bridge stood !
